405 Days In

We're just a little over a year + a month old + things are looking good so far. What an eventful year it has been--our menu has expanded, we have a very steady group of regulars, + now we are even holding early morning/evening yoga classes in the shop. There are big plans in motion for the future of Bittersweet Co: new menu items, new events to be held in the space, new staff, + new art installations to be installed. So stayed tuned + follow us on Instagram, Facebook, + Twitter to keep up with all of the new buzz + plans we have coming your way. And in the meantime, stop by the shop for a big glass of cold brew + a cappuccino cookie or two.

14 Weeks of Labor

It has been fourteen weeks since I signed the lease on my little brick-and-mortar shop on Main Street. It's been three + a half months of blood, sweat, and a few tears. 15 gallons of paint, 1700 sq ft of white-washed oak, a handful of colorful installations, oodles of white cappuccino mugs + espresso cups, 200 collected images collaged on the wall, + about two dozen galvanized steel, black painted, + upholstered seats later, we are one step away from our grand opening. The grease trap was passed last night + now I have two to three inspections that need to be passed + we are good as gold. Thank you all for the encouraging words, thoughtful prayers, + good vibes--I'm feeling the love right about now!

Behind the Scenes

It's officially been five weeks, tons of elbow grease, twelve cans of paint, an old laminate floor that needed to be ripped up, one ten yard dumpster, and a little too much anticipation for opening day coming this summer (Mid-June is our goal). And, as the queen of all things Instagram, I've been documenting the heck out of our behind the scenes transformation. You can see all things Bittersweet Co., from the colors of the water-closet doors to the beginnings of my new installations. If you want to join in on the fun + follow along, find us at @bittersweet_co. Or on twitter @bittersweet_co_. Or on our FB page, search Bittersweet Co. I'll keep you posted on when a final opening day firms up, what special treats are going to be served, and who I end up hiring to become my wing-woman (or 2) in the shop.
